With almost 1 million US COVID deaths, it’s time to evolve how we treat it. Evidence-based mitigation strategies like Subglottic Aspiration can help eliminate half of the deaths.

March 14-18 being National Patient Safety Week, it is very sad to know that per CDC as of 3/15/22, the total death for COVID ventilated patients due to VAP crossed the half a million mark. It’s quite baffling that these deaths could have been prevented if advanced secretion management modalities were used to remedy the cause of these secondary bacterial infections (VAP pneumonia) at the source, the source being the upper airway tracts. It is just common sense preventative measures that not only save lives but dramatically cut down on the overall healthcare cost.
